I deeply appreciate the gift of C.S. Lewis and all of his writing. Hearing his voice for the first time was, ironically, how I would have imagined it. I admire how he is straightforward with truth, but teaches it in such an appealing way.
I’m looking forward to listening to more, and reading the Four Loves.
I believe Tolkien based Treebeard's manner of speech on Lewis' voice and speech patterns. Lewis was said to have had a naturally booming voice (a little different from his well-modulated public speaking voice, I imagine).
That was the first time I heard Lewis' voice. Really enjoyed it. I am very slowly reading The Four Loves right now so this came at a great time for me. Thank you!
I love being able to hear him speak it! I also love this portion of the book. I recently watched a series that Hillsdale College put on about The Inklings and it gives such great examples of what he was experiencing of friendship, when coupled with his writing is so compelling.
Indeed, it is a profound time in which we live. Thank you for the post. That was marvellous, I too, like many, long for a deeper more meaningful life of friendship.
This is the first time I’ve heard Lewis’ voice. That made me quite emotional.

I am hearing Lewis Voice for the first time and it's such a delight. Thank God for C.S Lewis and his works. He has shed light in some gloomy matters.
Love the word gloomy
Thank you so much, sir
Wonderful to hear his voice, as he explains this idea to us. This is the first I've heard him. He must have been a thoughtful, interesting professor.
I just listened to Lewis's The Four Loves. So much richness in listening to it in his own words. Remarkable.
I thought he would sound more Irish!!! Thank you so much for this! 💖
Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful 😭

Booming voice indeed! He speaks much faster than I expected. Love the voice!
I wish I could find the quote I read that Tolkien based Treebeard's rumbling voice on Lewis's.
He had more voice boom than I imagined. What a treat to hear him though.
His writings are like finding rooms inside of rooms hidden inside of rooms. He goes so pleasantly in-depth. ✍️

Most of these ‘C.S. Lewis Doodles’ employ a proper British narrator, but this one is indeed voiced by Lewis himself:
